In January I decided to theme this year’s classes around the Yamas, a strand of yoga philosophy and the first of Patanjali’s eight ‘limbs’ of Yoga. They’re a set of external behaviours and form a sort of guide to living well.

The first Yama, Ahimsa means ‘do no harm’. As I say in class, we practise yoga so that we don’t punch people (or is that just me?…
